J&S Auto Repair Newport

Didn’t have any issues with my car prior to dropping it off for an inspection. Got numerous calls each time telling me something else was wrong with the car and I would be charged up to $1500 for simple parts. Significantly overcharged and the employee working thought it was appropriate to call me “baby.” Even though there’s a huge sign outside advertising their military discount they did not honor it at check out. Disappointed with the service and will not be returning.

Dishonest business. I personally changed my engine and cabin air filters 2 weeks before coming here for an unrelated service but they tried to tack that onto the bill. They are both brand new. They also tried to replace my new spark plugs to get an extra $613. Oil change was $130, i typically get it done for $40. On the plus side they got me in within 24 hours of calling.

We came from NJ for a wedding and as fate would have it we had some trouble with our car. We came here and the staff was so nice and helpful! Really thankful for J & S auto repair Newport. Now we can go back to enjoying our trip! Our son even enjoyed their spacious waiting room.

J&S Auto was able to do an oil change and repair the leaking tire in under an hour. Their website made it easy to make an appointment. A clean, comfortable, waiting room as well. It was great being able to go to just one place for both auto needs in almost the same amount of time as it would a quick oil change garage. Price for both services was equal to just an oil change at other locations but with dealership level of service.

I highly recommend J&S Auto Repair. I have a older vehicle that I knew needed exhaust and brake work when I dropped it off. The mechanics inspecting my car found another safety issue, that I definitely needed replaced. The staff was great. The business is very clean. My questions were answered clearly. Recommendations for future maintenance were written and on my invoice (and verbally explained) when I picked my vehicle up. I have been to numerous other repair shops in this area since 1993, but this is my second time entrusting J&S Auto with repairing my vehicle, and their professional service, thorough, quick turnaround and utmost courtesy needs to be noted. Five stars.
